He was born in 1960 in Balikesir, Gonen District, Gundogan Village. He attended primary school in Gündoğan Village Primary School and Gönen Ömer Seyfettin High School. He received his high school education at Istanbul Kabataş High School for Boys between 1975-1978. He completed his medical education at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine between 1978-1984. In 1984, he was appointed to Şanlıurfa Ministry of National Education Health Education Center for compulsory service.

He received his Orthopedics and Traumatology Specialization Training at Anadolu University Faculty of Medicine between 1988-1992. Between 1992-2006, he worked as an Orthopedics and Traumatology Specialist at the Ministry of Health Muğla State Hospital. He left Muğla State Hospital in January 2006 and joined Muğla Private Yücelen Hospital. Kiss. Dr. Mehmet Ali Salin performed over 2000 knee and over 1000 hip replacement surgeries. Mehmet Ali Salin, who has been working at Muğla Yücelen Hospital since 2006, is married and has 2 children.
