How is Facelift Surgery Performed?
Facelift operation is an operation performed by re-stretching the skin and providing a younger appearance with an incision extending from the front of the ear to the back of the scalp. Facelift surgeries are not usually performed alone.
Because of the nature of the operation, wrinkles and deformations around the eyes, around the mouth and nose, and around the neck cannot be corrected with facelift surgery, much more successful results are obtained when combined with a number of different interventions. Lip augmentation, neck and chin surgeries, minor surgery around the eyes, are other aesthetic interventions that accompany facelift surgeries. Brow lift and eyelid surgeries, when combined with facelift operation, produce very successful and cumulative results. Facelift surgery takes place in a hospital setting. It can be performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia. The duration of the operation differs according to the patient and the procedure to be applied, it can take 3 to 10 hours.
If the procedure was performed with local anesthesia after the operation, you can be discharged on the same day. If it was done with general anesthesia, it may be necessary to stay in the hospital for 1 night. Operations such as nose, eyelid and eyebrow lifting can be performed simultaneously with facelift surgery. Scars remain in facelift surgeries. However, these traces are not noticed because they are very well hidden. For example; It can be hidden in the scalp slightly above the temple area or behind the ear. In eyelid surgeries, the scars are hidden in the folds of the eyelid.
