Shoulder Disorders
Shoulder Joint
The shoulder is a ball and nest joint with three main bones. The three main bones are the humerus (long arm bone), clavicle (bridge bone) and scapula. These three main bones are connected by a layer of cartilage. The glenohumeral joint consists of the upper part of the humerus bone and the outer edge of the scapula. This joint is called the shoulder joint. This joint arm is very important in body mobility.
The shoulder has a versatile range of motion. Therefore, the discomfort that will occur here directly affects the quality of life. Shoulder problems are detailed in the subheadings as impingement, rotator cuff, and tendon tear.
What Is Shoulder Impingement Syndrome?
Rotator cuff is a disease that occurs as a result of friction between the humerus and the upper outer edge of the shoulder. This friction causes swelling and narrowing in that area. In case of compression of the shoulder tendon or bursa in the shoulder joints, this disease occurs. This causes pain and irritation. For this disease, rest, medical treatments and physical therapy are mostly recommended. In our physical therapy center, this process is carried out by specialist physiotherapists with treatment methods such as tens, hot-cold application, ultrasound.
What Is A Rotator Cuff?
Pain in the shoulder is manifested by increased pain, especially when the arm is raised overhead, weakness in the arm and shoulder pain at night. When the severity of these pains increases and the pains affect your quality of life, it is recommended to consult with a physical therapy and rehabilitation specialist. Surgical surgery can be performed when medical treatment and physical therapy do not work. An operation called subacromial decompression is performed with a device called arthroscopy. In our physical therapy center, this process is carried out by specialist physiotherapists with treatment methods such as tens, hot-cold application, ultrasound.
What Is Tendon Rupture?
The tendon is the fibrous soft tissue that connects the muscles to the bones. In some cases, tendons may be injured, damaged, or tendons may break or tear. In such cases, surgical operation is required to bind the tendon.
Tendon injuries (yawns and small, partial tears) are common injuries that are mostly treated non-surgically with the rice method (rest, icing, compression, and elevation) and perhaps with physical therapy. In our physical therapy center, this process is carried out by specialist physiotherapists with treatment methods such as tens, hot-cold application, ultrasound.
